How to Style a Maxi Dress for Fall

Fall is on it's way. I know this is true because today I was chilly. And let me tell you, I was so happy to be chilly. I am SOOO psyched for fall- I'm ready for crunchy leaves under my feet, Caramel Apple Pops, eating candy corn until I'm sick to my stomach... And, of course, fall fashion. Warm, cozy sweaters and scarfs. Boots & thick socks.
I've been going through my closet and thinking a lot about how to transition my everyday clothing pieces for fall- Like my maxi dress! At first I wasn't sure how I could make this appropriate for Fall weather. I thought about it, searched the web a bit, and, silly me! Turns out there are TONS of ways to wear a maxi dress in the Fall.

Idea #1: Tied button up
I think this has got to be my favorite- Simply taking a button up and tying it around your middle. I love how this looks! Add a few fun bracelets and a cross-body bag to finish it off.

Idea #2: Sweater on top
While #1 is my favorite, I think this one is great if you want to dress it up just a bit. I think this look is great because the sweater is just loose enough and the long necklace is a perfect finishing touch.

Idea #3: Skinny belt
As you can see, this is the  same chambray button down from #1, but it's a totally different look. I think this is so simple and put together- just a skinny belt tied around your waist with the button down tucked in to the belt! This would also work wonderfully with a cardigan instead of a button down.

So those are are few of my favorite ways to style a maxi dress for fall. What are yours?
